Emma B. Estep


Emma B. Estep, 80 of Springfield a beloved mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister died Thursday, November 13, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center at 4:52am.

She was born in Springfield, Ohio on July 9, 1928, the daughter of Andrew Miller and Minnie Pearl (Stinson) Parsell. Emma was a member of the VFW Post #1031 auxiliary. She had worked as a telephone operator for Wittenberg University and as an information receptionist at the Upper Valley Mall.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Willard "Will" Estep; brothers Richard, Ralph, and Clyde Parsell; and sister Audrey Switzer.

She has left to cherish her memory one daughter Denise (Erwin) Gray of Mechanicsburg; three sons Doug (Karen) Estep of Springfield, Tim (Terri) Estep of Bradenton, FL, and David (Laurie) Estep of Jackson, Miss; one sister Alma Uptegraph of Springfield; one brother William (Sherry) Parsell of Edwin, OK; ten grandchildren Jennifer, Jamie, Cory, Terran, Jason, Rebecca, Nathan, Will, Hiram, and Hollie; four great-grandchildren Paige, Torrey, Brice, and Shane; several nieces and nephews, and a special cousin Glenn (Jenny) Stinson.

Family and friends may call Sunday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNAR MEMORIAL HOME. A celebration of Emma's life will be Monday at 10:30 AM in the memorial home with Rev. Richard Blevins officiating. Entombment to follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
