Virgil T. Cook, Sr.
Virgil T. Cook, Sr., 67 of Springfield died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 in his residence. He was born April 24, 1941 in Jefferson, OH the son of Velma (Woods) Radcliff and Edgar Radcliff.
He retired from Navistar TSPC. He was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, Tremont City, OH, Clark County Democratic Club and was a US Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife of forty-three years Phyllis A. (Gilbert); five children and spouses Virgil T. Cook Jr. and Tina Woods, Tammy Y. Brown, Timothy B. and Dawn Cook, Mark A. Cook and Veronica Davis, Milissa A. and Thomas Cooper all of Springfield; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; eleven brothers and sisters including Sandy (Don) Hurst, Velma Radcliff, Thelma Radcliff (Richard Maguire), Maxene (Carl) Penwell, Charolette (Jullian) Arcienega, Esther Pendergraft and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Conroy Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
