Robert N. Campbell


Robert N.Campbell, 83, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Friday August 1, 2008 at the Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield.

He was born January 30, 1925 in Flushing, Ohio to Charles E. and Myrtle E. (Neff) Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Coleman) of 56 years; a son, Doug and Brenda Campbell; a daughter, Debbie and Joe Schumacher and beloved granddaughter, Balea Schumacher all of Florida; along with sisters-in-law, Theo Stebelton, Delores Hoffman and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Marthella and Dr. Edward McFarlan; brothers-in-law, Bill Stebelton and Walter Hoffman.

After graduation from High School he entered the Army and served with the 51st Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division in the European Theater. Mr. Campbell graduated from The Ohio State University in 1952 with a Bachelor in Science. He taught at Tecumseh High School for 10 ½ years and started the Vocational Agricultural Department. While teaching he earned his Master's degree from The Ohio State University. He then went to Ohio Edison to begin a 25 ½ year career as Farm and Residential Supervisor. He was a long standing member of the Honey Creek Presbyterian Church in New Carlisle as well as the New Carlisle Masonic Lodge 100 and American Legion Post #286.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Masonic Home for their compassionate and loving care given to Bob.

The family will receive friends and family Wednesday August 6, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the Honey Creek Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
