Paul Elwood Combs
Paul Elwood Combs, age 94, died Thursday July 17, 2008.
He was born April 20, 1912 on Victory Rd. in Clark County to Robert Johnston Combs and Anna Foster Combs.
He graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1930. He drove cargo trucks for 3 years and 8 months during World War II when he was stationed in the Army in Bury St. Edwards, England. He retired from Robbins & Meyer's punch room after 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of Lagonda United Methodist Church and served on their board of trustees and as an "unofficial" carpenter for many years.
He is survived by two nieces, Janet Fry of Kell, IL and Peggy (Dale) Hardacre of Springfield; a special cousin, Juanita Juergens; several great nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Kyle; sister, Dorothy; nephews, Robert (Bob), Curtis Lee and Robert Lamar Combs.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m on Monday at Lagonda United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00. Interment will follow at Clifton Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Lagonda United Methodist Church or the charity of choice.
