Naomi R. Caldwell


Naomi R. (Mihalic) Caldwell, 60, of Springfield, daughter of George R. and Helen A. Mihalic of Maynard, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 8, at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus.

Naomi was a graduate of Ohio University and Central Michigan where she obtained her master's degree in healthcare administration. She was Vice President of Facilities Management/Development for Community Mercy Health Partners. She began her long service with Community Mercy Health Partners in 1970 at Springfield Community Hospital where she held many positions. Naomi was instrumental in the construction of Springfield Regional Cancer Center and most recently had been concentrating her efforts in the development and planning for the new Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was past president and long-time member of Madison, Clark, Fairborn Drug and Alcohol Board and a member of the Springfield Kiwanis Club.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, James Caldwell and her beloved grandchildren Zayn Skiles, Bobbi Lee Owens and Jamie Caldwell. Also surviving are two sisters, Leslie (Dimitri) Vassilaros; Laurie (Rodney) Leonard, and one brother Mark (Sharon) Mihalic; three stepchildren, Lee Caldwell; Steve (Brenda) Caldwell and Karyn (Jessie) Owens, special nephew Jason Woods.

Friends may call at the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME 2425 N. Limestone St. from 5 to 8pm Friday, July 11, 2008; where service will be held 11:00am Saturday, July 12, 2008. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in Naomi's memory to the Community Mercy Foundation 1343 N. Fountain Blvd. Springfield, Ohio 45504. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
