Michael E. Cole


Michael E. Cole, 58, of Springfield passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center-East High Campus.

He was born January 25, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Robert Cole and Eloise (King) Cook.

Michael graduated from Greenon High School and Wright State University. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol and the Christ Episcopal Church in Xenia, Ohio. He served our country proudly in the Air Force Reserves. Michael loved to ride his BMW motorcycle but most of all he will always be remembered as a very caring and loving husband, father, brother and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 26 years, Linda L. (Sollenberger); son, Alexander Michael Cole of Springfield, Ohio; step-son, Nathan Lyons of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Richard Campbell of Dayton, Ohio and Maureen and Geoff Meldon of Springfield, Ohio and four nephews, Jon and Justin Marshall and Seth and Jacob Meldon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Christ Episcopal in Xenia, 68 East Church Street, Xenia, Ohio 45385 with Reverend Pamela Gaylor officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214.

The family is being serviced by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
