Mary Grace Augustine Clauer
Mary Grace Augustine Clauer went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ November 19, 2007.
She was born on September 8, 1913 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Grace (Hill) Augustine. Mary graduated from Wittenberg University in 1936 where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She taught in the Springfield City Schools for over 25 years.
Mary was a founding member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and seven brothers.
Mary is survived by her children; David, Daniel (Lois) Clauer, Rebecca Carey, all of Springfield and John (Ruth) Clauer of Hampton, VA and grandchildren; Brian Clauer of Chicago, IL, Todd (Mirra) Clauer of Kansas City, MO, Matt Clauer of Bellingham, WA, Julie (Eric) Longtin of Minneapolis, MN, Nathan Clauer and Amy Clauer of Hampton, VA, Jennifer Carey of Tampa, FL, and Sarah Carey of Pittsburgh, PA, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service to be held 12noon Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church 2643 N. Limestone St. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service with Rev. Dan Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in the Fern Cliff Cemetery.
