James Gordin Clarkston


James Gordin Clarkston, age 73 passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Springfield Regional Medical Center High St. Campus. He was born in South Charleston, Ohio, February 24, 1936 to the late William and Emma Clarkston. After 28 years of service, Gordin retired from International Harvester. He loved the outdoors, farming and enjoyed woodworking.

Gordin truly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he was also a baptized Jehovah's Witness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Peggy Law, and Helen Wheeler, brothers; Roger and Dean Clarkston.

Gordin leaves to cherish his memory; wife of 50 years, Lou Ella Clarkston, daughter Mary (Steve) Johnson, son Larry Clarkston, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, sister Annabelle Clarkston, a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service to be held 1:00pm Friday, March 20, 2009 at the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME 2425 N. Limestone with Brother John Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
