Dorothy Fay Current-Gamble


Dorothy Fay Current-Gamble, 92, of Springfield died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in her home.

She was born May 1, 1915 in Ross County, Ohio the daughter of Floyd and Monta (Kinney) Rickards.

Dorothy had worked for Robbins & Myers, SPECO, Ohio Thermometer and Gantner Screw Products. She was a member of Fifth Evangelical Lutheran Church and was accomplished at crocheting rugs, doilies, afghans and dolls and was a real fine cook.

She is survived by her son Richard H. Current of Springfield; one brother and sister-in-law Carl and Dottie Rickards of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three granddaughters and husbands Terri and Robert Bowman, Darlene Kaye and William Carpenter all of Enon, and Brenda Lee Powell of Springfield; eight great grandchildren Andrea, Angela and Jennifer Bowman, Tracey (Charlie) Campbell, Allison and Billy Carpenter, Ashley (Joe) Cannarozzi, and Jason Powell; five great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Tracey Current and George Gamble; daughter-in-law Patricia Current; sister Inez Trimpi; great grandson Justin Ellis and her special dog Abby.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1:30-2:00 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2PM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Robin McCarthy, Chaplain of Crossroads Hospice officiating. Burial in Kingwood Memorial Park, Delaware County.
