Charles Eugene Cordle


Pastor Charles Eugene 63, of Springfield, went Home to be with his Lord on August 29, 2008. He was born June 2, 1945 in Ironton, Ohio, the son of Alberta (Stapleton) (Cordle) (Bostic) Steele and Mathew Gideon Cordle.

Pastor Cordle was Pastor for 16 years at the Apostolic Church of God, 108 East McCreight Avenue, and had retired from Navistar following 30 years of service. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his loving wife Patricia Sue (McKnight) Cordle, children; Michelle Cordle, Charles E. Cordle, Jr., and Angel (Brandon) Baisden, grandchildren; Brittney Price, Melinda and Krystal Cordle, Austin and Katlynn Baisden, brothers; James (Tuck) Cordle, Rodney (Tammy) Bostic, Ironton, Walter (Dino) Bostic, Springfield, Chester (Fonda) Bostic, South Charleston, sisters; Joyce (Ronnie) Harmon, Cheri (Glenn) Jenkins, Mary (Rick) Freeman, Ironton, Faye Bostic, Worthington, Kentucky, Debbie Crockrel and Tammy Bostic, Ironton, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Charles Graham who was a very dedicated assistant to Pastor Cordle at the church and helped him in many other ways.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; David and Robert Cordle and sister Janet Cordle.

Pastor Cordles family would like to give special thanks to his niece Melissa Meyers for all of her loving care.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the JONES - KENNEY - ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Elder Glenn A. Jenkins officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
